Intel Core i5-2520M Computer Technology Review

The newly released Intel Core i5-2520M computer processor features integrated graphics controller also known as Intel HD Graphics 3000 chipset which, however, shares the fast level 3 cache with the CPU cores. This integrated graphics controller is clocked from 650 to 1300MHz with Turbo Boost technology.

In addition, this ultra high-end dual-core Intel Core i5-2520M processor is also based on Sandy Bridge architecture and offers HyperThreading technology in order to handle 4 threads at once. This 2nd generation Core i5 processor has 128 KB Level 1 Cache, 512 KB Level 2 Cache, and 3MB level 3 cache and features a base clock speed of 2.5 GHz but because of TurboBoost technology its speed can increase up to 3 GHz when 2 cores are active and 3.2 GHz when only 1 core is active.

Lastely, the Intel Core i5-2520M has a PassMark rating of 3586, which is quite faster compared to its sibling Core i5-2410M with a rating of 3350. This processor has a TDP rating of 35W.
